Financial Help For Vulnerable Pupils

raised funds 70%

The academic activities for the month of June spanned through Thursday 1st June till Friday 30th June, 2023, being week 10 in academic calendar. Pupils in Primary School 1, Mbierebe Obio, continued with number writing from 50 – 150. They were also taught subtraction of money (naira and Kobo) using word problems. Hence, questions were built around things they buy regularly. For instance, “If Edwards’ uncle gave him N50, and he spent N35 out of it, buying biscuits and sweets, how much money would he have left?”
It was observed that the pupils were fast in answering the questions verbally but spent time racking their brain when the sum was written down.

Also, the pupils were taught General Studies, where parts of the body and functions, as well as water, sources and uses were discussed.

At Ikot Akpa Edu, the pupils were taught addition and subtraction of numbers, quantitative aptitude, multiplication by 0, uses of money, time measurement and time reading in their Mathematics lesson.

On the aspect of English Language, the pupils learnt consonant sounds and pronunciation of consonant clusters, expressing ownership, and Comprehension reading on Drug Abuse to commemorate International Day Against Drug Abuse.

Both schools administered Continuous Assessment test to the pupils based on what they were taught, even as they would be embarking on revision for their promotional examination that will commence from the second week of July, 2023.
